Men’s Masters

In 2019 Mentone Hockey Club will be fielding 4 teams in Hockey Victoria’s Men’s Masters (Over 35) competition played on Monday nights on a home and away ground basis.A new HV competition structure introduced by Hockey Victoria has seen the age limit dropped to 35 and three new divisions introduced, Over 35, Over 45 and an Over 50 competition. While the Over 35 and Over 45 competitions run on a Monday night the Over 50 continues to run on a Wednesday night.The teams will compete in the following grades:

Men’s Masters 35+ B Grade.
Men’s Masters 35+ C South East Grade
Men’s Masters 45+ B Grade
Men’s Masters 45+ C Grade.

Mentone also enters 3 teams (under the name of ‘Southern’) in the Men’s SuperVets (over 50s) competition played on Wednesday nights at Footscray Hockey Centre or the State Netball & Hockey Centre in Parkville.

Mentone Veterans section has the ambition of becoming a force in Veterans hockey in Victoria and to realise this has established a Leadership Group responsible for the following:

Player recruitment
Coaching/Training
Social/Fundraising events

All four grades play their home fixtures at the Mentone Hockey Club’s home turf at Keysborough (Mentone Grammar Playing Fields).

Hockey Victoria regulations allow individual to play in both the Men’s Masters and the SuperVets for Mentone/Southern, as well as representing your own club for weekend open grade play.
